I have nothing but good things to say about Sycamore and my counsellor. It has changed my life. Adult services Sycamore Adult Service delivers over 1,000 counselling sessions a year, at our Chelmsford office. The majority of the counselling we provide is one to one sessions. We offer daytime sessions Monday to Friday as well as evening sessions Monday-Thursday. Sycamore is a BACP Accredited service and all of our counsellors hold a professional counselling qualification. What you can expect from counselling Counselling can offer you the opportunity to talk over, clarify and express your problems, thoughts and feelings in a safe and confidential environment, and with a trained counsellor. It is not advice giving but rather we aim to listen to you in a non-judgemental way with a view to helping you gain a better understanding of your difficulties and clarify possible choices and ways of dealing with your problems. The tools I've been given to use to review the past and go into the future have helped and made a big difference. Thank you. How to access our service To make an initial appointment the person seeking counselling will need to call us themselves on 01245 359 353. We will arrange an initial appointment at a time that suits you. We do not take referrals from professionals or other concerned parties. This one off appointment gives you the opportunity to tell us your reasons for seeking counselling at this time and what you aim to achieve from counselling. We also help you to explore if counselling is right for you at this time and whether we are the right service for you. If not we will do our best to direct you to another service. If it is agreed to go ahead with counselling we will aim to assign a counsellor as soon as possible, though exactly how long this takes, will be dependant upon your availability. We are conveniently located near Chelmsford Town Centre making our service easily accessible by public transport. Fees Fees for both the initial appointment and counselling sessions are charged on a sliding scale which is negotiated between the counsellor and the client themselves. However, we ask that you bear in mind that each counselling session costs us £45 to deliver and therefore a sliding scale based on gross household income is suggested.
