ABOUT WHCM

Vision and values

Vision & valuesAlthough our work involves different approaches and methods of delivery its all underpinned by a set of common values so that no matter which of our services a person is using the values and principles offered across our services will be consistent.

Our history and founding Christian faith continue to give us strength and purpose to support those in need, and this ethos remains an important reason why many work and volunteer for WHCM.

During 2009 Trustees and staff spent time listening to each other and formulated key 'values' which we set out here.

Mission statement

The aim of WHCM is to support people in East London and Essex, and especially those who may feel isolated, excluded or marginalised through personal emotional or mental health problems. We seek to respond to this need through a range of professional counselling and other services, and enable people to:

  • Gain insight into, and understanding of, the issues in their lives
  • Explore possibilities for change
  • Develop their own choices and solutions
  • Discover ways of getting to where they want to be
  • Use support and develop strategies to enable them to deal with future difficulties
